The festival brings to you a wonderful mix of Indian and Western Music - an indication of the beautiful way in which different genres of music co-exists and flourishes here.

Think 'Bandra' and images of Western Music flash in the mind. Bandra has always been associated with western music, but how many know that there is a committed audience here for Indian music too.

The Celebrate Bandra Festival sought to dispel this notion and has done so very successfully in the earlier three festivals. The very large artistic canvas provided by Indian music has reached out to audiences cutting across age groups. The magic is vastly 'different' and gets better with every festival.

The 2007 festival provided a lot and more. The 2009 festival promises more, more and more.

Think 'Bandra' and images of western music flash in the mind. Some highlights are the 'Choral Evening of Sacred Music' at the Mount Mary Basilica grotto and a 'Rock evening with Shazneen'. Devissers and Soans take you down memory lane with old favourites, as will Harmony Incorporated'. At Bandra's Lands End amphiheatre, a 25 piece orchestra will perform classics to pops. Then there is an evening with 'Suburban String Sounds', and a Blues with Ehsaan and Loy, Clinton and Dominique. There is also a 'Sing Along' as part of the 'Felix Flor' evening.

There are special musical events for Gen Next. There is a teeny bopper's night, a beat boxing workshop and musicals for kids, while the prominent children's choir of Bandra 'The Gleehive' will hold you spellbound.

Bandra has always been associated with western music, but how many know that there is a committed audience here for Indian music too. The Celebrate Bandra Festival sought to dispel this notion and has done so very successfully in the earlier two festivals. The very large artistic canvas provided by Indian music has reached out to audiences cutting across age groups. The magic is vastly 'different' and gets better with every festival.

The 2007 festival provides all this, and more. Classical music lovers can enjoy 'Morning Ragas'and instrumental music. Children will prove their mettle in serious music with a classical concert of vocal and instrumental music. The popular music section features a Qawwali and a program based on film songs.

Then there is a multi lingual folk music concert, while the evening of Ghazals of Mallika-e-Ghazal Begum Akhtar promises to be special. No Indian Music festival is complete without devotional music and an entire morning is devoted to this.
